I have seen the book, When God Made You, on other blogs, and it looked like a really beautiful book with a great message. So, I was excited when I received a package in the mail, and found this wonderful book inside! It’s always fun to receive surprise packages. It’s even better when it’s something to share with my kids.
When God Made You is written by Matthew Paul Turner. It is his first wide-release children’s book. It’s a fun, colorful, rhyming picture book that will have your kids asking you to read it over and over again. It might even be a book you want to read over and over again. The book gives children assurance as they are looking for a place to fit in, in the world. They will know they are loved and are unique and will feel free to spread their wings and fly. As the author wrote the words in the book he said, “my hope was to offer an ecumenical prose that celebrated God’s love and passion for every child and how their characteristics, personalities, and talents are unique gifts to the world.” Children will learn how they fit into God’s plan as they grow, explore and create.

My 10 Year Old Son’s Opinion of When God Made You
When I asked my son what he thought about the book, he said, “It was good.” He thought the pets on this page of the book looked really tall!
He also thought the people looked really tall in this book, especially when looking at the people’s feet in this picture in comparison to the little girl riding her bike. My son said, about the book, “It’s silly because in some of the scenes, the pets and people look really giant.”Do you want your children to know they are loved and unique? My Opinion of When God Made You
This page is so sweet because the baby sister is watching the big sister go out. Plus, the words on it are so sweet, “God knew your name. Your picture is framed. God’s family without you would not be the same. What great words for a kid to hear, that God knows them and wants them to be a part of His family. That’s what we all want, to feel wanted and needed.
This picture is just so stunningly beautiful! It’s full of so many colors and it just feels so cheerful and shows a life full of possibilities. After reading the book, I understand why the author said it would also become one of the parent’s favorite books to read because the message is a great reminder to me also. It reminds me of just how much God loves my children, and cares for them. So, I don’t need to worry about them because He loves them and knows them even better than I do. It also reminds me that I’m important to God too and my life does have a purpose. “Somehow God knew that the world needed someone exactly like you.”
Who is When God Made You For?
I definitely recommend this book to kids all the way from age 3 to age 10. The younger ones will enjoy all of the colorful pictures. The older ones will enjoy the message and maybe even think the book’s silly like my son did. I think any adult will enjoy reading this to their children. Anyone will appreciate the message of how important we all are in God’s plans.
