Do your kids like Disney? Are you looking for a Bible that your kids will enjoy reading? This Once Upon a Time Holy Bible & Storybook Bible are just what you need! You and your kids will have fun reading these Bible stories together.
Once Upon a Time Holy Bible and Once Upon a Time Storybook Bible
• With the popularity of fairy tales and Disney animation, and especially with the new release of Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast, Zonderkidz wanted to publish a storybook Bible and full -text Bible (Holy Bible offered in hardcover, and pink leathersoft editions) that would resonate with children and families who loved those types of movies, and loved reading a great story.
• The art will captivate Disney lovers with similar looking characters and color palettes
• Zonderkidz wanted to capture fans of this genre, but introduce young children to the word of God, and introduce them to the great characters of the Bible. It’s important to note that this brand serves to resound the theme that the Bible is NOT a fairy tale, but every great Bible story happened once upon a time. The Bible is the ultimate Happily Ever After story!
• What Christian parent doesn’t want to tie in Bible learning fun with what their kids already love, but also have the opportunity to teach them that the real heroes and stories of our faith come straight from God’s Word.
The Storybook Bible utilizes even more of the captivating art style and beautiful narrative to tell the major stories of the Bible, and the Holy Bible Hardcover Edition and Holy Bible Leather Edition includes the full-text of the bestselling New International Reader’s Version (NIrV) translation, and highlights 6 great stories of the Bible in full-color tip-in pages. (there will be 6 stories, and each story is told on 4 illustrated pages.)
My Daughter’s Opinion of Once Upon a Time Holy Bible & Storybook Bible
My daughter saw the Once Upon a Time Holy Bible and said, “It’s so pretty and glittery! Why didn’t they have this when I got my first Bible?” (She’s 18 now.) She also liked that there are pictures in it to help illustrate the major stories.
My daughter thought the Storybook Bible wasn’t as pretty, especially because there’s no glitter on it. However, she did think the colorful damask inside covers are pretty. She also likes how at the end of each story is a little “Happily Ever After” section that sums up the story with an application for the reader’s life.
My Son’s Opinion of Once Upon a Time Holy Bible & Storybook Bible
My 10 year old son thinks the Once Upon a Time Holy Bible is “cool.” He likes the pictures of the major stories and the dictionary at the end. At the end, there’s also a table of contents of the Great Bible Stories and he really liked that. If you want to read a certain story in the Bible, that makes it easy to find.
He liked the Storybook Bible because, “It’s a short version of all the Bible stories.” We read it together at night before bed. Even when he’s tired, he still wants me to take the time to read him the story. They’re just the right length, about 5 minutes, so it doesn’t take long to read and discuss. It’s a nice way to end the day together.

I think I was just as excited as my daughter when I saw the Once Upon a Time Holy Bible! The cover is so beautiful and would make any girl want to read it.
I really like the line on the bottom of the cover that says, “The Bible is not a fairy tale. Every great story happened once upon a time.” That really impressed me that they thought of adding in that detail right from the start.
There’s a “Presented” page at the front where you can write names and dates if you want to give the Bible to someone.
I also like the pictures inside the Bible, of the major stories, like Adam and Eve, and Jesus is Risen! Like my son, I appreciate the table of contents of Great Bible Stories at the end. That way if we’re discussing a story that he learned in Sunday School, it’s easy to look up. Then we can read it and discuss it more.
The Storybook Bible also has the same disclaimer on it about the Bible not being a fairy tale, so that’s nice. The illustrations in it are really colorful and I like the border around the first page of each story.
Like this nice blue border with a sun on the top and bottom, for the “Samuel Listens to God” story.
This is a beautiful picture of Eli sleeping in the background while Samuel wakes up and listens to God’s voice.
It’s also nice because there aren’t too many words on each page, so it’s not overwhelming to read. That makes it a nice and quick bedtime story.
I really like the last page. It says even though it’s the end of this book, it’s “only the beginning of the story.” Also that, you can find more “stories just like these in your Bible.”

This sounds awesome! Gracie loved for me to read Bible stories to her when she was little.

Sonya, that’s neat you used to read Bible stories to Gracie. Kids grow up so quick, so we have to cherish those times, and remember them.

I wish they had this book when my kids were young. It would be a great gift for Easter. The animations do remind me of Disney looking charactors too. Nice review!
Gloria, that’s exactly what my daughter said! You’re right, it would make a great gift for Easter, I hadn’t thought about that.

Lovely, if there is a question that i always ask, it’s why dont we have children movies that illustrate the bible the same way we have in Dora the explorer and co. Thanks for this information. I will sure look it up for my Kids though they are still at ages 4 and below.

Elizabeth, that’s a great idea to have children movies like that! I think they would be really popular and teach more kids about the Bible.
Cool! The animations do look Disney-ish. And I agree: I like the tag line!
Kristen, I’m glad you like the tag line too.
Love it! Thanks for reviewing this! Growing up I loved my kids Bible. I used to read it on my own- that’s how much I loved it. Was just thinking I need to find one for my 10 year old son. It’s great to get your 10 year old’s perspective as well.
I’m gonna check it out on amazon now. Thanks!
Teri, that’s great you enjoyed reading your kids’ Bible too. I enjoyed reading it with my son too. It’s a nice way to end our day. How neat we both have 10 year old sons. I hope you find a Bible for him. If you have any questions, let me know.
