I love Chris Tomlin’s song “Good Good Father”, so I was excited to be able to review the Good Good Father for Little Ones book, written by Chris Tomlin and Pat Barrett. The illustrations are so cute and the story is a wonderful message about all the ways God is a good, good Father. It’s a quick and fun book to read with your child before bed. I think it will help ensure that they’ll have sweet dreams.
Inspired by the #1 hit song “Good Good Father,” as heard on Chris Tomlin’s new album
“Oh, I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think you’re like . . . but I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night . . . and you tell me that you’re pleased . . . and that I’m never alone. You’re a good good Father.”
Experience the truth of God’s love for His children in refreshing, heartwarming ways through the children’s board book Good Good Father for Little Ones, illustrated with stunning art by Lorna Hussey and penned by Grammy Award-winning Christian music artist Chris Tomlin and Pat Barrett.
With sweet, rhyming text, Good Good Father for Little Ones explores many of the attributes that make God such a good, good Father.
- like a warrior, He protects you
- like a teacher, He helps you learn and grow
- like a doctor, He makes you feel better
- like a farmer, He provides the food you need
- like a musician, He brings you joy
- Most of all, a good, good Father loves you!
Based on the children’s picture book Good Good Father, this precious rhyming adaptation will leave little ones with a greater assurance that God truly is a good, good Father and they are loved by Him.
My 10 year old son’s opinion of “Good Good Father”
Keep in mind, that he is 10 and this book was written for “little ones.” His first impression was that is is “very kiddish.” That is actually good, because that means the authors did a good job writing to their target audience.
I asked him is there was anything that he liked, and he said, “I like that they’re animals.”
So, at least he found something to like and he did let me read the whole thing to him.
He loves Ninja Turtles, so his favorite picture is the one above with the turtles playing instruments.Do you want a cute little book to read with your young child before bedtime? My Opinion of “Good Good Father”
I was excited about the book as soon as I saw it! I love the puffy hard cover, and the illustration on the front is similar to my favorite page(pictured above). It’s the last page of the book and I just think it’s a very cute way to show a big daddy(God) hugging his little child(us), and it says, “A Good Good Father never stops loving you.”
I love the animal illustrations in the book; they are all so cute and really capture the words of the story in their expressions.
I would definitely recommend this book, Good Good Father for Little Ones, to anyone to read with their newborn all the way up to maybe 6 years old. It would definitely bless your lives by the encouraging message of God’s love.
