The first part of the book explains why you should eat fresh based on scientific research. Then, there’s encouraging healthy tips to let you know that eating fresh food doesn’t have to take a lot of time.
To help you live healthy there are sections on how to shop and store foods, quick tips and nutrition tips. There’s even a section that talks about the other things you can do in your life to stay healthy, other than just with your food choices.
Of course, most of the cookbook is full of delicious, healthy recipes! The photos of the finished recipes are so beautiful! There are even tips on the recipes to help you cook it easily and successfully.

This book has been the most helpful to me on my family’s heart healthy journey we’ve had to be on. The amount of information I’ve learned about how to live a heart healthy life from this one cookbook, has been amazing!
My favorite thing about this cookbook is the Appendices. You can learn so much from reading them! You’ll know how your diet affects your heart, how to grocery shop and cook for your heart, menu planning and substitutions. There’s also tips about healthier preparations for cooking.
Of course, there are so many delicious recipes in this cookbook. We’ve found lots that we like for snacks, dessert, fish, chicken, and vegetables. Some of our favorites are Lemon Basil Rice, Cinnamon Sugar Pita Crisps, Cookie Jar Snickerdoodles, and Crispy Baked Fillet of Sole (although I use salmon). I also have lots more on my list that I want to try.
So, if you know of anyone having to live a heart healthy diet, this would be an awesome gift to give them!

While looking up the book I mentioned just above on Amazon, I saw that there’s an updated version of the book. The version I mentioned is wonderful, and I love it! However, I know some people appreciate the newer, updated version, so I wanted to give you that choice also.

There are so many great recipes in this cookbook! I went through the cookbook and wrote down the recipes I thought we would like; it ended up being 5 pages! Some of our favorites are Sweet Mustard Salmon, Turkey Meatballs and Sauce, Chocolate Ribbon Banana Loaf, Sweet n’ Sour Chicken, and Pizza Pepperoni Pasta.
