On Sunday, I interpreted at church. I interpreted almost all of the sermon. It was really long, so the other interpreter switched with me. After that, I did laundry all day. I also worked on my blog and got everything almost ready to launch. I changed all of my social media accounts to my new blog name and changed all of their logos.
On Monday, I had to have a medical test done at 8:00 in the morning. Most of the other medical offices in the complex were closed, so it was really weird to drive in to an almost empty parking lot. When I got home, my youngest son and I went for a walk. Then, I made cinnamon rolls and my son and daughter watched the Rose Parade. After lunch, we took down most of our Christmas decorations. My husband just needs to take down the artificial tree and the outside lights. Then, I launched my blog! There were some technical things I had to do after it launched, like linking it to Google Analytics. Later, in the afternoon, we did more yard work. We put bark on the rest of the yard for now, and were able to make one semi-circle of rocks and succulents.
On Tuesday, I went for my morning walk. Then, we went to Home Depot to buy some more rocks and succulents for our front yard. I had another medical test to take. After lunch, my husband redirected my old blog to this blog. It involved code, and I don’t know how to do that, so it was nice he helped. I did some more things on my blog and completed another blog training video. Later in the afternoon, my husband and I did some more work on the front yard. We only have about an hour of light, so we don’t get much done each day. After dinner and dishes I caught up on my email.
On Wednesday, my son and I went on our morning walk. After that we all went and grabbed a Starbucks(I got a free one for signing up for their app), and went to Home Depot to buy some more rocks. we made two more half circles of rocks and succulents. Then we mapped out the spot for our rock river. After lunch my husband went golfing and I had a dr’s appointment. I watched another affiliate marketing training video. By then it was time to cook dinner. After dinner and dishes, my husband helped me claim this new blog on Bloglovin. That was hard to do because the link wouldn’t show up on my front page. It took a lot of research to figure out how to make it work.
On Thursday, my daughter had to go back to work at her college, so we woke up early so she could take the train. After my morning walk, I did my grocery list and made a coffee cake for dessert for a few days. After lunch, my husband and I went through our 2016 pictures and decided how much of each one to order for us and our parents. I watched another affiliate marketing video. After picking up my daughter from the train, it was time for dinner and dishes. After that I started reading a free pinterest course.
On Friday, my son and I went on our morning walk. Soon after that it was time for his yearly physical. He’s doing well; he’s in the 84th percentile for his height and 82nd for his weight. That’s good the numbers are similar, because that means his size is the right proportion. So, since he’s tall, and his weight matches, he’s just right. After that, it was time for lunch. After lunch I worked on some blog stuff. I set up my first RSS feed through my newsletter, but apparently I didn’t do it right – there was nothing in it other than my logo! Oops! So, I read up on it some more, and luckily Mail Chimp has a RSS template already set up with the code in it, so for now I just used that one; and it worked! I also read some more of the pinterest tutorial. I made the first board on my Pinterest, be the “Best of Brenda Loves Sharing.” We also worked some more on our front yard. A neighbor walked by, and said she really liked the river path we were making. That made us feel good to know someone else likes it.
On Saturday, it was busy! I did my usual grocery shopping. Then I cleaned the kitchen, downstairs bathroom, and the master bath. I ate lunch late at 1:30. Then we went to Costco. After putting that away, I cleaned the downstairs floors. Then it was time to go to my parents’ house for dinner. When we got home it was 9:00, and I finally got to look at my email, but not much else.
How was your week?
